To be completely transparent, I had no idea where this assignment would go or how I’d go about finding something I didn’t know the name of. I had actually been thinking about it for a couple of days before deciding to just set out into my backyard to hopefully find something that would fulfill the assignment. My mom and grandma love to garden so everything I didn’t know the name of (unluckily for me) had been labeled. That made my life a little harder seeing as I had wanted to find something quickly and get the assignment done because bugs were all but assaulting me in my backyard.

As it turns out, I found this little purple fella right as I was about to step on it. I genuinely had no idea what it even was because it looked like a weed or something because it had been growing in the middle of the grass. What I failed to mention earlier is that I recruited my brother to help me find something to make it easier for me to seek refuge inside from the bugs. If you look at the picture, there’s only one dainty little purple flower. There were more, he’s just a dumbass who didn’t realize where he was stepping and took out 3 or 4 flowers in one step.

I tried to see if I could unravel the stepped-on flowers but there was no use. Thank god at least 1 survived so I could complete the assignment. As I was taking the picture of my new buddy, my parents who were on the deck staring at me in confusion. I just decided to tell them I was just playing photographer and they shrugged me off. In terms of what the little flower actually is, it’s actually wild violet. To find out what it was, I typed into google “purple little flower that grows from grass”. The little flower turned out to be a pretty vicious weed according to google. And then google goes on to say that this weed can “choke out the grass”. I guess you could say that little flower is a badass but not in the best way because it can kill my grass at some point. I’m genuinely impressed with how powerful the flower had the potential of being. It probably would’ve caused more damage to the grass had my brother’s big clunky foot not stepped on a handful of them at once.
