People imitate nature in the sense that our most beautiful parts are typically our most overlooked.
Waterfalls are roaring spills that oddly calm the soul,
But the rocks behind them are what form them.
When I sat behind the waterfall I watched the world the way these rocks might,
I watched the water rush away from me and I imagined the “oohs” and “ahs” of folks standing beneath the water,
I realized that I am these rocks, and so are you, and so is everybody you’ve ever met –
Because it is our creations that people notice,
The things of which we craft and design are the things that render people speechless,
Our works of art and their ability to cause happiness for others,
This waterfall is a masterpiece and the rocks beneath it are the artist,
We are the artists.
And while society would not function without art,
It would be nothing without artists.
The beauty of creation is the beauty of humankind.

Hi Molly! Wow! Thats all I can say!! Your picture of the waterfall truly did make me say oooo and ahhhh and wow so beautiful. Its truly amazing how beautiful our planet is just some people don’t realize it. Personally, I have never seen a waterfall in real life only pictures that always blow my mind. Your last sentence “The beauty of creation is the beauty of humankind.” really touched me. Humans help with the beauty of our planet by perseving its nature and making sure no negative things happen to places like the waterfall in your picture. I truly enjoyed reading your piece!!

Molly, this is truly a great piece. The picture of the waterfall is astounding and I love how you made a smooth transition from talking about the creation of waterfalls from rocks to making a comparison between us and humans and those rocks. We are the creators of the greatest things we have to offer along with the beautiful art that bring people joy.
Your writing is that of elegance, simplicity, and passion. I really adore how your last line, “The beauty of creation is the beauty of humankind,” sums up your thoughts in the sense that we are the creators and the beautiful nature of the art around us us thanks to well, us. Thank you for this!

Like the previous two comments, my initial reaction was “wow.” This is a beautiful piece and the picture you chose is the perfect accompaniment. I love the emphasis on human-kinds’ creation, which is specifically important right now as we feel so isolated. You remind us that we still hold the power to create, inspire and connect with others through the meaning of the art we share. I also like how you commented that we often overlook these things. It is essential that we seek out this beauty in others and dig deeper to bond with them, being in a society that is so concerned with material value. Again, great work, I loved reading this!
