Looking upon a beautiful sunny day, you never really take into appreciation what the nature of our world has to offer. Unfortunately, I am home writing this assignment, I got the benefit of sitting on my deck and taking in the beautiful atmosphere around me. I looked on my phone and saw the UV index was strong, for any 18-year-old girl that means its time to sit outside and try to get some sort of color so we are not pale as a ghost. So, I looked up. Looking up to see not just a plain sky with a bright circle, but also seeing some light white stuff. Obviously knowing me I thought of it to be clouds but then I wondered, what type of clouds. This got me to do some research. The research was hard because I am not a cloud specialist however, I tried my best with comparing my Syosset clouds to google internets clouds definitions. I came to the conclusion that my clouds are best similar to Cirrostratus clouds. They are lightly white and not big; very similar to looking like strokes of white paint in the sky. There were a few of these types of clouds around me but otherwise, everything was clear. I then began to think- maybe a cloud can have a story. Similar to how each person is different maybe each cloud could have a story. So, the weirdest thing I have done all of this “coronaction” is cloud watch. I sat back and watched the clouds. I then began to see different ideas in a few of them. One cloud looked like a pond having the blue sky be its water flowing out. Using your imagination can take you on many different adventures just from the comfort of your own seat. My imagination took me on an adventure to a small pond. In this pond, each time a gust of wind came, a new animal would come to use the pond as a resource of water. The picture I attached might be vague to see but if you use your imagination you can see anything you want to see with it.
Due April 20th: Imagination
During this time the outdoors have been everyone’s getaway from going insane at home. I love how a simple idea turned into a research study. Its amazing to see you using your imagination since many of us as we get older tend to lose touch with that. Through your piece I hear the desperate need to leave home but also the little happiness this quarantine has brought you.
