Under the sea tune:
So I’m home one day from college when I hear some horrible news
Some disease is taking over, In China and Europe too
Oh there’s a case in my county, state and country too
Stores are out of toilet paper, oh what is for dinner now (Oh no!)
COVID-19
COVID-19
This disease is killing while we’re all hiding in quarantine
That’s the best thing that we can do
Login onto Netflix, Hulu, and ZOOM
Go was your hands and stay inside cause COVID-19
COVID-19!
You suck!
I created this song because we are living through the pandemic of COVID-19. The picture I drew is my visual representation of the song. We are living in a world right now of isolation and no escaping so I began by drawing people stuck under the sea. Every part of what I know of the right thing to do is being isolated. The coronavirus, drawn in black, is having a negative connotation because of all the worrying people are going through and yet anxiety of when it will end, when will life be normal. The seaweed shows the representation of Hulu because now since people are forced to stay at home they are downloading new products to keep themselves occupied; my family, in particular, downloaded Hulu. The waves not only show us being under the sea but also show Zoom, online learning, moving slowly across because we will be using it every day until the last day of school. Then we have some animals down under the sea! The fish, in orange, is obviously six feet apart and practicing social distancing for which as long as I have been home that is what I have been doing. The little red crab shows Netflix because everyone has already had it or used it and now it is just sitting there with no true purpose. Yes, my drawing does suck but when I hear my song this is how I visually picture it.

Alexis, I really liked how you brought together a fun, Disney classic with this pandemic going on. It is crazy that pretty much all our lives consist of now is zoom, streaming services, and social media. Just one month ago we were all at college living completely different lives. Thank you for adding a bit of happiness with the under the sea tune to a not so happy subject!

Hey Lexi!! I thought your piece was very creative and surprisingly enjoyable considering the topic. Your idea was the complete opposite of mine however I loved it. Your piece was very light and happy and actually made me smile even though it was about the corona virus which I have a hatred for. I loved the the picture you added to go along with the piece and I love how after the song you added a blurb explaining your thoughts while writing this mix on under the sea. Hope all is well! – Eleni LeClair
