Some people may say they have had an experience that completely changed their life forever. I however, don’t believe I have. My outlook on life is changed by little things each and every day. Each time I see a person on the street begging for money, my heart breaks a little. It reminds me to appreciate the fact that I never have to worry about where my next meal is coming from. Every time I see a post on facebook about a child who has gone missing, it reminds me that I have every reason to be thankful that I am still able to talk to my family whenever I want to. Every single time I hear about a child who is terminally ill, or a person who has an untimely death, I feel so grateful that I have been blessed with the chance to grow up, and hopefully will continue to, because every day I live healthily is a gift.

Each of these things are something we see and hear every day. Every day the world we live in seems a little more cynical. Whenever I hear any of this, I lose a little bit of my faith in the world, changing my perspective of life for the worse. However, we also see the opposite things happening. We see posts of soldiers finally being reunited with their families. We see children finally winning their fights against cancer. We see charities that are helping those who have nothing. Everytime I see these things, my perspective also changes. I see just a little bit more good in the world. I remember that I am lucky to live in a society that makes these things possible. I believe that there is much more good in the world than evil, we just choose to see what is bad.

While I believe that one experience can change your perspective forever, I don’t believe this is always the case. I believe that every one of us can agree that every experience we have changes our outlook just a little bit, and our overall perspective is molded by what we choose to focus on.
