Caroline Erlandsen is an animal-loving, active, and fun girl. She is from Newtown, Pennsylvania but occasionally takes a trip up to her ski cabin in Vermont. Not only does Caroline ski, but she also swims, plays soccer, and does CrossFit. At home, Caroline lives with her two parents, three siblings, and one dog named Reggie. Reggie is a mix of golden retriever, corgi, border collie, and australian shepard. He is a very big part of her life and it was difficult for her to leave him for college. Here at UD, Caroline lives in South Academy and is in the medical diagnostics pre-PA major in hopes to become a physician’s assistant one day. Until she can fulfill her dream of becoming a PA, she works at an ice cream place called Moo Hope. Ice cream is Caroline’s all-time favorite dessert, so she loves to go to UDairy here at school. On top of ice cream, she loves to eat extra salty pretzels, hot Cheetos, and her Grandma’s ham. When she decides to go out to eat, Roots on Main Street is always her go to. In her free time, Caroline loves to bake desserts, hang out with her friends, and be adventurous. I loved getting to know Caroline.
This assignment has granted me the absolute pleasure of meeting the wonderful Katherina Contreras, or Kat for short. Kat is a super sweet girl from a town called Hazlet which is in Central Jersey, but only if you believe that it exists. Upon meeting Kat, we realized that we both live in the same building, South Academy, only 2 floors away. We also have a lot in common too. For example, both of us swam on the swim team through high school, love a good Shack Burger from Shake Shack, and have a soft spot for the Jersey Shore. Her favorite beach to visit in the summer is Long Beach Island which is only a bit south from where she lives in ‘Central Jersey’. She is very fortunate for this seeing as her favorite season is summer. However, Jersey is not where she spends all her time. Kat also has a house in Florida which is not far from Tampa. Kat has just one sibling, an older brother. Her favorite food on main street is El Diablo and for dessert she loves to snack on some dark chocolate Milano’s or a nice cold Reese’s cup. Kat and I also share the same preference for social media. We both agree Twitter, a clear first place, is super low maintenance, casual, and the best place for a good laugh. Her major here at UD is criminal justice which she hopes to maybe take to law school someday. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the super cool personality that makes up Kat Contreras.
One of the most kind and down to earth people in UD has got to be Grace Smithmyer. Grace is from Pennsylvania where she chooses Sheetz over Wawa, not by choice but because of distance. She has an older sister and a younger brother as well as a dog named Lyla. Wawa is superior, though. A fun fact about her is that she lived in Hong Kong when she was younger. She enjoys playing soccer and basketball as she played in high school. Grace is a biology major and wants to pursue being a genetic counselor after her time here in Delaware. She loves to take a walk up to Main Street to get Roots whenever she can. Her go to music artist is Post Malone and her favorite social media app is Twitter. A cool thing about Grace is that we live in the same building, South Academy, and had no idea until meeting in English class. Her favorite snacks are hot cheetos and extra baked cheez-its but above all she loves sour patch watermelon. She’s a very weather dependent person when it comes to her daily mood and her favorite season is spring. It’s been a pleasure getting to know Grace and getting a taste for who she is as a person.
