Eleni LeClair grew up in Bethpage, New York, a hamlet in Long Island, adding to her already diverse background of Greek, French Canadian, Italian, Ecuadorian, Argentinian and Native American influences. Her fluency in the Greek and Spanish language aid her in her many travels. Over winter break to escape the cold weather that she despises, Eleni visited the Bahamas, Greece and Thailand where she had amazing experiences, one of which was riding an elephant.
When Eleni is not traveling the world, playing lacrosse or on the soccer field, she can be found on North Campus studying for her bachelors degree in nursing, with hopes of becoming a pediatric oncologist. Experiencing culture will allow Eleni to understand the values of her patients, helping her succeed as a skilled and compassionate nurse. This semester Eleni is rushing where she has the opportunity to follow in her mother’s footsteps by becoming a sorority sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi. With her vibrant personality, Eleni will find it easy to take her place in the sisterhood. Next semester, Eleni hopes to study abroad in either Africa or Australia, where she can gain more experience in her field, while helping people worldwide.
With her busy schedule Eleni relaxes by listening to a broad spectrum of musical artists from Jon Bellion to Lil Uzi while cooking herself meals, that is unless she is ordering her favorite buffalo chicken pizza from, and only from, La Piazza.
- Ellie Pellecchia
Ellie Pellecchia grew up in Allentown, New Jersey, a small town of only half a square mile. Ellie enjoys music and has been to warped tour every year possible until its closing. Ellies birthday falls on Valentines day and she shares her birthday with her boyfriend. Ellie happens to live 4 floors below me on north campus and is excited about pencaders renovations.
Ellie is a hopeful trauma nurse and is currently studying in the nursing program here at Delaware. She believes she should be wearing glasses however everytime she wears them she gets headaches. In her free time she likes to watch the office and listen to chill music. She loves to travel and hopes to study abroad. Ellie believes that she can make coffee that tops starbucks and dunkin donuts.
Ellie is an animal fanatic and has had six cats, 2 dogs, 2 doves, 2 snakes, a bearded dragon, chinchilla, a guinea pig and two hamsters. Every animal Ellie has owned she has raised since they were babies. If Ellie could only eat one meal for the rest of her life it would be pasta because you can do so much with it. Ellie enjoys watching horror movies and enjoys being scared in control settings. When Ellie is not studying or traveling she enjoys relaxing in sweats and comfortable clothes.
- Eleni LeClair
Elizabeth grew up in a town right outside of Philadelphia called Abington. She is a freshman at UD and her major is pre-vet. She decided to live on North campus because she met two girls so to have a triple requires you to live on North Campus. Yes, it is far from the majority of campus but it is nice and makes you feel very much at home. The one downfall is for her to come to class here on the east campus. It is a far walk or a bus ride.
We have a few things in common. One of them being that we are both summer birthdays. Her birthday is on June 28 and she shared that this summer she will be volunteering in South Africa so she gets to spend her birthday away which is pretty cool. In South Africa, she is going to be volunteering with animals since she loves to work with them (cheetahs and other wild cats plus crocodiles). Elizabeth has cats at her home which she named after the characters in Step Brothers. We both also played lacrosse in high school but we were both different positions; she played mid-field which requires a lot of running. We also both have siblings but they are all different ages. She has a younger sister and an older brother.
When considering Delaware, a big consideration of Elizabeth’s was the distance from home and the size of the undergraduate class. Delaware offers a great pre-vet major which also persuades her to come here. Having family members with animals made her realize that this was the major for her. Elizabeth believes that animals can be helped and help people plus she has a connection with them. Puppies, for example, are very therapeutic for people to have. Her favorite food to eat on the main street is Chiptole and always Elizabeth prefers a salty snack over sweets but if its chocolate brownie ice cream she loves it.
- Lexi Lichten
Lexi Lichten is a fellow freshman, who is happily attending what has always been her dream school: University of Delaware. This school is not new to her family, as her mom is an alum, who currently works in advertising for the very popular People Magazine. Lexi took a different path from her mother, pursuing an elementary education major that she loves. Lexi is from Long Island, New York, and realized she wanted to work with children in 9th grade, when she took a leadership class, where she visited young elementary students to speak to them about bullying in hopes to help prevent it.
She is currently approaching another year of working as a camp counselor, at a camp that she has attended for 11 summers. In her first year counseling, Lexi was given a young group of campers that she works with each year, continuing to keep in touch with them outside of camp. Lexi is a former lacrosse player, and a special talent of hers is figure skating.
Continuing to stay active at school, Lexi loves to take different classes at the gym, and is living above a spin class place her sophomore year. At the University of Delaware, Lexi is always up for a meal at Honeygrow, or getting her favorite Klondike Kate’s nachos.
